Hargreaves Group announces the appointment of William Hill to its newly formed Investment Committee.

The newly formed investment committee has been created to streamline the acquisitions and capital expenditure process as the group look to double the value of their portfolio from £400m to £900m over the next 10 years. William Hill, who has a strong interest in sustainability, having recently completed a course of study at Cambridge Institute of Sustainable Leadership in sustainable finance and sustainability in real estate, will also join Hargreaves ESG Working Group to ensure the team are accountable for the delivery of their ESG strategy.

William Hill qualified as a Chartered Surveyor with Drivers Jonas in 1985. He left in 1989 to join Schroders and became head of its real estate investment division in 1991 where he successfully grew the business to over £10 billion of assets under management. In November 2013 Hill left Schroders to set up his own consultancy business.

William Hill’s other previous roles include being Chairman of Mayfair Capital, Chairman of the Association of Real Estate Funds, and master of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors.

Alongside his work with Hargreaves, Hill is also a non-executive chairman of Ediston Property Investment Company plc, a Uk Reit, a Board member of Old Oak Park Royal Development Corporation and chair of its planning committee and has recently been appointed as senior non-executive director of AREF.
